NEW DESIGN

THE MAKING OF... The concept of the video is the fruit of a collaboration with Jérémie Battaglia, a Montreal based photographer. The objective was to have a very minimal space that would get busier with different geometrical patterns during the course of the track.

We created a system of hooks to attach elastics accross the set allowing us to reproduce the same patterns with precision: we shot one day with a black background and another day with a white set. That allowed a simple effect:, a quick switch from white to black backgrounds with exactly the same image. So basically, the video was made with paper and elastics attached with paperclips!

The dancing was an idea that came naturally. I was working on the sound design for a dance show and the dance company had a very little budget so I thought that in exchange we could work together on a dance piece for the video... which we did. I'm not a great dancer in any way but I simply enjoy it (it doesn't show that much here maybe, as the shooting was exhausting and I was pretty nervous about the whole thing!). I'm conscious that including the female dancers was kind of cheesy (backup dancers, really!?..) but we got along so well while working on their show that we thought it'd be great to involve them... It was a good choice in the end because they had such a great energy and really helped me with my "performance ;). Jérémie had the idea of the neon lights, adding some colours to the video... He was probably inspired by the lyrics.

The whole production team was amazing and extremely generous. For such a low budget video, I think everyone was pleased with the result.
